    Kenneth Pike:One nice thing about fantasy worlds is, when your next door neighbor is a lizardman and your dentist has blue fur and pointy ears and your mother-in-law is an enormous walking porcupine... the dude across the street who looks more or less just like you only with a better tan? Yeah, you don't worry too much about that. d^_^b I'd say the "races" and "ethnicities" are definitely there, but people just don't think about them as much. (For a similar real-world example, people of Chinese and Korean and Japanese descent can often differentiate between one another where anglo-Americans and Europeans just see "Asians." How "different" you are is really, really normative...)
