The Spells of Battal

A list of common, uncommon and other spells that are known of in Battal.

This list of course does not include the elemental spells of the High Elemenstors, which are not called spells, but rather gears. Spell magic and Elemenstation are two very different things, and these spells are notable uses of simple sorcery throughout ELotH media.

Technically speaking, you can be both Elemenstor and a sorcerer, but as Elemanifestations are much more powerful than spells few tales are told of Elemenstors take advantage of this opportunity. In the Pen & Paper RPGs on the other hand, such individuals are relatively common, perhaps due to the complexity of Gear Striking within that system, or perhaps merely for more playing variety.

Note, these spells make a less than literal translation to the various ELotH games, and any similarities with the ELotH roleplaying game "Spells of Low Elemenstation" source materials is coincidental at best.

Jeez nice set of spells we've got here. Adding more would be nice, yes, but we're going to have to flesh all of these out eventually. Boy that's going to take a while. -TychoCelchuuu
Um, does someone have to be Made Dead before a Undead spell is used on them? I know it may seem obvious, but clarification would be appreciated. -saintb
Actually, a Make Dead spell spontaneously creates a dead body in a random state of decomposition. It's for ethical and/or lazy necromancers who don't want to kill somebody or hit the graveyard for bodies. -Jute Mill

Tim:yeah, the info here just wasn't really in line with the whole rest of the wiki (from looking at descriptions of all the narratives and described exploits of elemenstors) I think that the blurb just went unnoticed when it was added (probably by one of the fans that knows about ELotH:TES mostly from playing the RPG)
SeanB:Tim, I commented at you earlier on the front page, about how we shouldn't outright replace "List of Spells" with "List of Gears". Well, you handled that very diplomatically, but *this* is where I got that idea from. The List of Spells page made it sound like spells were used quite frequently. Since that's apparently not the case, I wouldn't make an argument for it. I'll leave it up to you.
Tim:this page had seemed to imply that elemenstors could cast a limited number of gears per day.. this is actually the opposite. generally sorcerors have a limited number of spells they can cast and elemenstors (in addition to being much more powerful due to their elemanifestations) can pretty much strike gears ad infinitum. (that's part of what makes them so crazy epic)
